About Me

Here's a bit more about me:

I was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia but my family moved to Dubai when I was 3 years old, and that's where I grew up. I went through school there, completing my GCSES and then obtaining my International Baccalaureate Diploma. I also swam competitively throughout the entirety of my childhood, training 9 times a week at one point.

Despite my commitments to swimming, football was the sport that always had my heart. My Dad properly introduced me to Football and the club him, his Father and our whole family supported, Manchester United, when I was 7 and my love for the club and football grew from there.

For so much of my childhood, I didn't know what I wanted to do as a job or career. I then realised that I should do something in relation to my one passion: Football. My best subject at that point in school was English, and I always wrote match reports after every United game on Snapchat. I also made football-related videos on YouTube as a hobby, and so I realised my dream of becoming a football journalist.

I always wanted to study in the UK regardless of my profession choice, and life took me to Oxford Brookes, where I am currently in my third year of studying Media, Journalism and Publishing.

I feel that my upbringing in Dubai with yearly visits back home to Malaysia has introduced me to numerous people of different cultures, nationalities and religions, which gives me a truly diverse, open-minded and empathetic approach when it comes to writing about any subject matter.

I have written about numerous non-football related subjects such as racism, mental health and addiction among others whilst at University, and I feel like my outlook on some of these topics is unique due to my exposure to different people and cultures.

I hope that my career will involve me travelling to multiple football games to cover games, whether that be through reporting, commentating or interviewing, my main aim is to experience football as a journalist and tell stories of games and events through my perspective.
